Greater Abilities Program (GAP) Logo Design
Event Description
The Greater Abilities Program is a new partnership between myTEAM TRIUMPH and Bellin Health. myTEAM TRIUMPH (mTT) is an athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races. The participants with disabilities are known as "Captains," and the athletes who have the honor of pushing and pulling the Captains on the course are called their "Angels." Bellin Health Fitness Center is a medically based, wellness center committed to providing innovative services to reduce client risk of disease and injury, support healthy lifestyles and improve overall health. The missions of these two organizations connect in the Greater Abilities Program, an exercise mentoring program intended to improve the health of people with disabilities by connecting them with Angels and a Belllin fitness professional. About the Logo For this logo I explored both font based and graphic solutions. I wanted to design a logo that communicated the partnership taking place, with the aesthetic of a health and fitness logo. I spent some time researching logos of organizations with similar missions such as the paralympics logo and the special olympics logo. I also took some time to study the logos of popular fitness clubs and sports brands such as nike (iconic), asics, and under armor. |
